Summary
Competitive environment is changing losing not time as companies prepare themselves for Tokyo 2020 and beyond. Amid calls for the need to develop global talent and organization is heard everywhere. Not infrequently, however, the center of discussion tends to focus on Japanese business peoples’ deficiencies when compared to Westerners. In this session, we will shed fresh light on Japanese peoples’ strength and talent and discuss their potential value in the context of global management.

Founded Kudan in Bristol UK in 2011, after 8 years at Accenture as a consultant, and managing director of game publishing company. Kudan develops core technology of AR/VR/MR and AR applications. In 2014, Kudan K.K. was setup to enter Japanese market.

Atsushi Mizushima supports various corporations and startups in their planning and execution of business strategies, including M&A, business alliance, global expansion, fundraising, new business model creation, and IP strategy.
Earlier, from 2012-2014, he was a starting member of WHILL, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based hardware startup, where he was in charge of management of the company and achieved two rounds of VC fundraising (USD13MM).
Currently, he is a mentor at Boomtown Accelerator, a Colorado-based startup incubator.
He also takes a position of a lecturer at Seikei University School of Law and authored many articles and books regarding M&A and international taxation.

He had been engaged in global marketing over seven years, including 3 years oversea appointment in the United Kingdom. After leaving Sony, he joined the Boston Consulting Group. He had been engaged in variety of projects for 4 years covering wide range of industries including manufacturers , public services , finance , etc. He established Caeru Inc in 2014 to support Organizational transformation. (“Caeru” means " change " or " hatch out “ in Japanese)
He is a certified ambassador of ITIM organizational culture diagnosis and cross-cultural communication.

With more than 20 years of proven track record in the field of corporate communications and public affairs , Chika has provided consulting, training and coaching for multinational companies, educational institutions, NPOs and global professionals.
Joining itim international is a natural path for her and she is fully certified to use the research of Professor Geert Hofstede on Organizational Culture and Intercultural Management.
Previously she served as Managing Director of Corporate Communications & Public Affaires at GE and Hewlett-Packard in Japan. She has visited more than 50 countries and worked with people from more than 30 nationalities, leading various multi-cultural & cross-functional projects. She has a wide range of experiences in teaching business presentations and leadership communications.
Chika earned a B.A degree in French literature from Aoyama Gakuin University (Japan) and an M.B.A from Ashridge Business School (UK).She is a visiting professor of the NUCB graduate school in Japan.
Born in Tokyo, Japan, Chika has lived in the UK, Spain and is currently based in Chicago, USA.
She speaks Japanese, English and is comfortable in French and Spanish. She plays golf and piano, loves cooking and reading.

Ryukichi is a senior consulting manager of the Dentsu Innovation Institute (DII), Dentsu’s internal think tank. At DII he leads “JAPANOLOGY" Project that focuses on strengths of Japanese companies and its longevity. Before DII, he was a planner at the Dentsu Satonao-Open-Lab researching on far-reaching advances in the communication business, social media, and consumer behavior, an lab which released a new consumer behavior model “SIPS”. He holds MA in commerce from KEIO University and MBA from IESE Business School. He is also lecturer at International University of Japan and Globis Management School.

Bob is the founder of itim International in 1985 and the hofstede centre, He is an economist who has worked for the ILO, a UN organization and for industry. Since 1969 he travels extensively and his work has taken him to over 65 countries. Starting around twenty five years ago he has developed quick scans to measure actual and desired cultures of organizations, based on additional research conducted by Geert Hofstede in the 1980's. Moreover, he has developed a fully integrated tool kit to assist management consultants to help their clients in meeting their objectives in the best possible way.

Tsuyoshi worked for Nippon Life Insurance Company, McKinsey & Company, and Mercer before starting his own company, CORESCO, in autumn 2014. While providing management advices to the senior executives of major companies, he also coordinates external professional resources to deliver wide range of services by leveraging his unique network. He has been involved in supporting disaster-affected Tohoku area’s reconstruction since 2011 by running a not-for-profit organization “Let’s Talk Foundation.”
