Tsuyoshi Komori

Tsuyoshi is the Representative Director and President of Mercer’s Japan operations. He has led various consulting activities, in particular for clients undergoing the critical stages of M&A and globalization. As a senior partner of the firm, he is leading Mercer’s diversity and inclusion efforts in Asia Pacific Region as the Chairman for Region’s Diversity Council. In addition, he has been hosting a forum for senior management participants called the “C-Suite Club,” where he advocates the theme of “Innovate Japan through People.”
He co-authored the following books: HR Due Diligence for Successful M&A (December 2006; Chuo Keizai), Post-Merger Integration (May 2007; Nikkei Publishing), Diversity Strategy –Innovation through Opinion Diversity (July 2008; First Press), Power of neutral brain (January 2009; First Press), HR Due Diligence for Successful M&A - the second edition (April 2010; Chuo Keizai), and Reading aloud is the way for improving your English! Before joining Mercer, he worked for McKinsey & Company, where he supported numerous global and Japanese clients on critical top management issues. As a member of the healthcare practice, as well as the retail and consumer goods practice, he spent approximately four years at the Japan office and a year at the New Jersey office in the United States. Prior to McKinsey, he worked for Nippon Life Insurance Company, where he worked in the HR department and at the sales and marketing headquarters.
He holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from Hitotsubashi University.
